So... here it is late January, next week it's supposed to be cold, icy, snowy and crappy most of the week.  I REALLY hate winter.  Guess I'm totally in the wrong job to hate winters.  I work for the highway department and that means every time the weather is bad, I have to work.  Other than that, I like my job.  But, I'm still waiting to win the lottery so I can move south. : )  I need warmer weather!!!

It's almost the end of October and I see I haven't written on here since February.  A lot has happened since then.  My first granddaughter is almost a year old, her birthday is Nov. 21st.  My oldest daughter is pregnant with her second child, she is due Feb. 1st.  My youngest daughter is half way through her senior year in high school.  She has a horse now too, in addition to her dog.  She starts a new job on Monday at a burger place downtown.  Our family is going to South Padre Island next week for a week, maybe two.  We still have the white limo, although business has slowed down tremendously.  We make airport runs too, those we usually do in the Navigator though.  My husband is working in St. Louis right now, but as soon as he gets home we are headed south.  I can't wait!  That's all for now.  I've updated some photos too, check them out.

Wow, so much has changed since my last blog.  I am now a proud grand mother.  My grand daughter is now 3 months old and just the most adorable kid.  My oldest daughter is in college and making straight A's for the first time in her life!  It's pretty funny because she hated school her entire childhood.  Now she is married, a new mother AND a college student.  My youngest daughter is a straight A student in High School.  She loves journalism class and year book class.  She has a wonderful boyfriend aand she jsut recently became the proud owner of a 5 month old female Weimaraner puppy.  The puppy is a handful, but she is adorable.
My husband and I still have our limousine business and it's picking up little by little.  We are sure proud of that.
The winter weather has sure been bad this year and I hate it.  I have been to South Padre Island 3 times in the last few months just to get away from the crappy weather and get to a warmer climate.  I love it there!!!!

Tomorrow after work we are leaving for South Padre Island, Texas.  My husband and I are going and taking some friends along.  We will also be visiting some friends while we are there.  This is my all time favorite vacation spot.  To me, there is nothing like being at the ocean.  I love the smell, the feel of the cool, misty air and the beautiful sunrises or sunsets over the water, depending on what ocean you are near.  Being from California originally and having been in the Navy, seems as though it's just in my blood.  When I get to missing it too much, it's just time to go!! 

I've recently become the boss at my job.  This is tough for somone who never wants anyone to be mad at them, never wants to hurt anyone's feelings, and doesn't like confrontations.  It's also tough to suddenly become the boss over the people you have been friends with for the past fifteen years.  They used to be your co-workers, now they are your employees.  Being a boss is something new to me.  I've been the boss of my kids and I've tried to be the boss of my husband, but giving your friends orders, that's entirely different.  Add to that, the fact that I am a woman and all my employees except one, are men.  Besides all that, the job is generally seen as a man's job.  Just a little stressful. 

It's been a little over 5 months now, I'm finally starting to relax some.  I go in each day knowing that all I can do is give the job my BEST, and let God handle the rest.

If it weren't for the fact that I have so many poeple who believe in me, I would not have this job now.  I had very little confidence in myself.  Others gave me the confidence I needed to apply and interview for this job.  I am truly grateful to all those who believe in me.  Thank you for being my friends!!!
